About the Event

In our first conversation, Dr. Ella Bell discussed her groundbreaking research, that spanned eight years, which takes “an unflinching look at the surprising differences between black and white women's trials and triumphs on their way up the corporate ladder”.

In this follow-up discussion on race in the workplace,  we will sit down with two women executives - one white and one Black -  to explore their 20+ year career paths and the unique challenges in their professional journey. We’ll grapple with understanding how race and gender inform their experiences and opportunities.

In our first session, we introduced the 4Cs of inclusive leadership. We will take a deeper look at how we incorporate the 4Cs - Curiosity, Connected, Courageous, Committed - into our leadership style. In breakout groups, we will explore how women of all races can leverage the 4Cs to create a culture that supports and lifts up all women in the workplace.

Now more than ever, our persistence and determination is necessary to grapple with what it means to re-envision justice and intentionally dismantle the anti-black narrative that is the core underbelly of our country. Honing our ability to understand race and gender dynamics equips us to better intervene as senior leaders in driving organizational change anchored in a culture of belonging. It is up to senior leaders to change the direction of our organizations and create a culture of belonging.
